In healthcare publications or websites, you often see the same, standard stock images used. These often fail to convey the passion that health workers have for their jobs, or represent only one limited aspect of the healthcare user journey. At Dovetail, we wanted some imagery to use both for online purposes but also to decorate our new office and represent what the future of healthcare means to us. This is why we chose to commission Seana Gavin, an emerging collage artist, to create a piece of bespoke artwork for us. An image that would represent our modern take on healthcare, and illustrate what we believe will become a technology-enabled healthcare journey, while not oversimplifying the complexities within it.

Dovetail Lab artwork

Seana Gavin is a London based artist who makes hand cut collage environments using old found imagery. Sometimes with otherworldly, Science Fiction overtones. She was recently commissioned by New York based ADO to create a stop motion animation for their online platform which was inspired by the future of design and technology in the urban environment.

“For me this commission for Dovetail Lab was an interesting subject manner. I created this artwork in response to the ethos of the company. Inspired by ideas around the future of technology used in the health care system and hospitals. My aim was to illustrate quite abstract subjects such as patient data collection in a fun and visually inspiring way. Especially focussing on thoughts around Artificial Intelligence supporting human roles.” Seana Gavin

At Dovetail, we believe that new technologies are integral to the future of healthcare. However, it is important to ensure that clinicians, as well as other healthcare members of staff, are able to have access to the best of these technologies in order for them to provide the very best care possible in the most efficient way.

"At Dovetail, we are passionate about the power of new technology to both make clinicians working lives easier and drive better patient outcomes. The commission looks to communicate the exciting future of digitally supported healthcare. Not replacing amazing health workers but augmenting their abilities to keep us happy and healthy." Alexandra Eavis, CEO
